So, I haven’t updated in a while, mainly because until now I had forgotten my password to this here site. But, now that I remembered it, let the flood gates of blogging open.

This is not actually that a fore mentioned blog, this is just a quick update.

If you haven’t heard, The Crew got reviewed twice in one day. Which was unexpected, but awesome. You can read the reviews here:

http://news.tubefilter.tv/2009/01/14/the-crew-blasts-off-on-koldcast-tv/

http://www.tilzy.tv/in-the-engine-room-of-any-great-sci-fi-spaceship-is-the-crew.htm

Also, I did an interview at the Tubefilter Web Meet-up, which I’m to understand will be coming out in its entirety soon. Until then you can check out some highlights here, http://www.koldcast.tv/video/a_meetup_mashup and while you’re there check out The Crew now airing on Koldcast at http://www.koldcast.tv/video/the_crew_101_pilot

Last, if you can take a minute or two to nominate The Crew for a Streamy at http://streamys.org/ that’s be awesome because we really want to win something. No real other reason, maybe for exposure in regards to the show and other such  poignant things, but mainly we just want to win. Thanks!

That’s all for now, more to come shortly.

Busy…

I’ve been insanely busy the past few months, but in a good way. Finally releasing The Crew has been amazing, we’ve gotten an incredible response from the first episode and we’re releasing the second one today!

I’ve been neglecting the updates, so I figured while I wait for episode 102 of The Crew to load, I’ll fill everyone in on the goings on.

First off, we finished the final episode of “Groomer Has It” this past Friday and it feels good to move out of the dog grooming world. I start tomorrow on a new show for Comedy Central called “Reality Bites Back.” It’s going to be an amazing show making fun of reality TV with Micheal Ian Black as the host… which pretty much says it all.

In addition to that I’ve been to meeting after meeting in regards to The Crew and it’s future life on the internet. Good stuff, more news will follow… probably around the release of the third episode June 29th.

In the few moments I’ve found here and there I’ve begun preperation to shoot the new Copeland video on June 22nd. I’ve never known stress like trying to squeeze in a major music video production during my free time. But, I’m excited about it I think it’s going to be really really cool and fun… and then stressful again, and then over. I’ll breath July 7th when we ship it off to Tooth and Nail.

And, lastly a group of us out here in LA have begun to reproduce and re-record old radio theater broadcast from the 40’s and 50’s that we will be putting up on a weekly basis that you can subscribe to as a podcast. Probably won’t be for everyone, but the people who get it, I think they’ll really enjoy it. That should be coming up in early July.

So, that’s pretty much it for now. I’ll try and keep you all better updated in the future… but, no promises. The new Crew episode should be online now, so go watch it!

Captain Kirk and I Had Words

While heading to the parking garage of my studio to retrieve my vehicle and head out for the day I pasted James Spader chilling in a fold out chair with Ray-Bans on just taking in some sun. “That’s odd” I thought to myself as a threw a wave in his direction (he waved back, we’re tight like that). Only after entering the garage area did I notice that they were shooting Boston Legal. Excited? You bet I was. Instead of proceeding to the elevator like I was supposed to, I kind of faded into the video village crew and watched the scene they were shooting. Once cut was yelled, I decided to not push my luck and go a head on with my own business. Kind of weeding through the crowd of crew members setting up the next shot I found myself standing next to William Shatner. After borderline peeing my pants I quickly let “Are we having fun yet?” leave my mouth in his direction. Captain Kirk grabbed a bottle of water from the nearby craft services before responding, “No. It’s hot. I’m tired. Long day.” I quickly responded, “Well at least it cooled down from yesterday.” He grunted in agreement. “Well have a good one,” I said with a half wave as I started towards the elevators. He grunted again, I took that to mean “You too Brett, can’t wait to see the first episode of the Crew, maybe I could catch a guest starring role, but we’ll talk later.” I love Hollywood.

Groomer Has It

So, after finishing up season 5 of Biggest Loser, I moved over to assist in Coordinating three other shows for the same production company: Petfinder, Big 4-0, and Groomer Has It. All of which are pretty standard reality shows, none of which I would watch had I not worked on them. But, with that being said, you can see for yourself tonight at 9pm on Animal Planet, when Groomer Has It premieres. The follwing teasers pretty much say it all. Enjoy.

Stephen, against Julia’s wishes, decided to play Karate Kid at the top of the mountain. Good times!

Somehow, a floated idea of hiking around 10:30pm during a potluck dinner in Hollywood last night, became a reality this morning about an hour later than scheduled. Myself, Tim, Stephen, Julia, Dorian and Tessa (Last day in town, had to give them the hard sell on moving out to the West) and our newly found Floridian-turned-Californians: Joel, Wife, and Dog, hit the Santa Monica Mountains. Needless to say it was amazing, but at this point I’m sure you’re tired of reading and I’m tired of typing, so I’ll let the pictures do the rest in regards to explaining. Also, read the Mountain Lion survival tips: Awesome!

Is it possible that eating Peanut M&M’s on a Saturday while laying on your couch watching movies, is the true meaning of life?

I’ll get back to you on that.

8 Films to Die For

Well it’s that ime of year again, and the AfterDark Horrofest’s 8 Films to Die For have reached my local Blockbuster’s store shelves.

The fact that I won’t be watching these for the next 8 weeks on Friday night before work with Taryn and a large bowl of lobster bisque, is depressing, but typically so are the films… so I guess that works out.

Anyway, if anyone is keeping score, last year Taryn and I deemed 3 to be really good (The Abandoned, Unrest, Wicked Little Things) and the rest to be fair to terrible depending. Dark Ride and Gravedancers definintely tied for the worst of the bunch.

So, this year I started with BoarderLand, which was a resonably good movie. Not what I expected from the opening, which, with Horror, is a good thing. But, it was more of a frat boy action movie with blood (and one of the hobbits from Lord of the rings) than a full on horror film. Plus the budget was probably higher than the sum of the previous years 8 films (which again, could be a good thing). All in all it was pretty good.

If you’d like to play along at home, Next week we’re watching ”Lake Dead.”

So it begins…

Being in California and away from countless people I consider very important in my life I find it a bit daunting to try and keep everyone as up to date as I feel they should be. And vise versa. So, in an effort to try and remedy that problem I’ve decided to once again start keeping a regular blog. Not for any reason inparticular, but rather to randomly express subtle nuances that occur in my day-to-day life which would otherwise go without acknowledgment. I will probably keep this bad boy updated fairly often, so check back now and then for whatever pearls of wisdom I deem necessary for the world to read. It might not always be entertaining, but it’ll be here, and that’s saying something.

In the mean time, have you watched the trailer for THE CREW at JoinTheCrew.org today? Well, I think that’d be an excellent use of the next 53 seconds of your life.
